Hi all,

Firstly to apologise for letting a lot of the site slide for the last few months. I’ve pretty much only been updating the news page but nothing else. My bad. I had some computer problems which are now sorted so I should be in a better position to keep on top of the rest of the site too.

Anyway, it was mainly housekeeping type stuff so you may not even notice most of the changes. What you may notice is A Serious Man header images in rotation with the rest at the top of the page (hit F5 to check them out but do so on an A Serious Man specific page or you could be there a looong time). In addition I have updated the A Serious Man movie page along with the reviews and, what I insist on calling multimedia even though it’s really only images.

I have taken the bold step of adding True Grit to the roster of Coen brothers movies too as it does seem to be going ahead.

Hope you like the changes, any problems let me know.

Paul.

You asked for it. You repeatedly asked for it. And now it’s here. I have just added a section to YKFK detailing the rest of the Coen brother’s creative endeavours. Read about Crimewave, Bad Santa, Joel’s early editing work, Ethan’s books and more.

I expect I will have missed some things so please do not hesitate to let me know and I will add to the page over time and one day it will be authoritative. So you can email me or simply comment at the foot of the page. Perhaps you have more information than I do? If so write it up and I’ll add it.

You can the ”Other Works” section here. and it is always available from The Movies pull down menu at the top of each page.

You Know, For Kids! now has its very own events calendar. It lives in on the right of this page. I will keep it up to date with all the important, upcoming Coen-related events, releases and goings-on so you will know, at a glance, if something big is going down anytime soon. Each event will link to its original post for your convenience.

Hi all, just a quick note to let you know that the link for the RSS feed has changed. So, if you would be so kind as to unsubscribe from the old one and subscibe again to the new one, either from the below RSS icon or the one at the top-right of the news page to ensure you keep up to date with all happenings on Planet Coen.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

Just a very quick note to let you know that I’ve updated the Burn After Reading Mulitmedia page with some images I grabbed from the recently released trailer. Why not pop over and take a peek. It’s interesting to compare both versions of the movie’s logo – one from the apple.com trailer page and the other from the trailer itself. I know which I prefer- the Top Secret folder style from the trailer.

I’m getting VERY excited about this movie now.

The keen-eyed amongst you might also notice one or two other minor changes to the site, such as the re-naming of the “On DVD” section to “At Home” to more accurately reflect the fact that DVD is no longer the sole choice of the home cinema connoisseur. I will be working on that particular section in the coming weeks including a review of the beautiful Blu-ray version of No Country For Old Men.

Just a quick note to let you know that the commeting is now working. So, please feel free to comment on any of the news articles and maybe we can foster a small community feel to the site.

The news blog still has one or two issues (the main one being that the header doesn’t work properly) but we’ll be working on fixing those over the next few days. Thanks to Marc for being awesome and giving up his own time to help me out with this stuff.

This here news page now has a fancy RSS feed. You can subscribe to it by clicking the RSS logo at the top-right of this page or by clicking this one…

Oh and commenting is currenlty broken. I have my crack team of programmers working round the clock… I’ve got them working shifts.

Just some site news. By the time you read this the new forum will be fully operational and linked to from the banner buttons at the top of every page. In additi I have now given Burn After Reading it’s own sections in the pull down menus above.

Please do take the time to register at the new forum as it is much, much better than the old one.

I’ve updated the No Country For Old Men reviews page with some reviews (many, many more to come) including one from your humble web servant- my own (I saw it last night- yay!) and our very first YKFK reader review (thanks Matt!). Why not make a cuppa, pop over there and have a read?

If any of you have seen it and fancy penning a quick review email me it and I’ll be happy to post it up for fellow Coen fans to read. I often canvass for reader input but until Matt no one has ever taken me up on it.

The No Country For Old Men website has been updated. Each section is preceded by an animated clip from the film and has its own looping music. There are wallpapers, AIM icons and a screen saver (coming soon), lots of information on the cast, the movie and the book, an image gallery and, of course, the three excellent trailers.

Wallpaper 3 is particularly gorgeous and shows, once again, how good the Coens and Roger Deakins are when working together. Shame Deakins is not working on Burn After Reading too, which is the first Coen brothers movie to be without him since Barton Fink back in 1991.

In addition I have cheekily used the footer from the wallpapers and used them to concoct 5 of my own desktop wallpapers. You can see them in the No Country Multimedia page (at the bottom). I particularly like this one.
