According to Movieweb, the US release date for True Grit has been brought forward by 3 days. It’s moved from Christmas Day to 22nd December. According to the article the execs at Paramount decided to do this after being so impressed after being shown the movie by the Coen brothers.

Great news! Yee-haw!

Thanks to Derrick for mailing me!

This month’s Empire magazine has a feature called the “10 Movies We Want to See Right Now”. In it the Coens’ True Grit is 3rd. The small write up says nothing new but does have the UK release date listed as January 14th.

Now we have an extra reason to look forward to Christmas this year! Not only will you be able to indulge yourself with too much wonderful food and drink but you’ll also get to see the new Coen brothers’ movie, True Grit! Paramount have announced via Variety that they have set the release date for the movie – Christmas Day!

Hopefully they will have found their Mattie Ross by then…

Only 338 days to wait!

Empire online are carrying a wee story about the release of the A Serious Man trailer yesterday (as is just about every other site on the internet) and within it they claim that the release date here in the UK is November 20th. A full SEVEN WEEKS behind you lucky Americans!

Focus Features have announced the US release date for the Coen’s next movie, A Serious Man. You lucky Americans can see it on a “limited release” on October 2nd!

Thanks, once again, to Bunnie!

Bummer, man. That’s a bummer.

I suppose I really got my hopes up that we in the UK didn’t have long to wait to see the Coens next, Burn After Reading. Working Title Films have put right their previous mistake and now list its first release date as September 12th in the US (see screengrab below). Us Brits will have to wait till October 17th which ain’t too bad now is it?
