Hi all, MTV.com has laid it’s mitts on some exclusive images from the “Fall” movie releases one of which is a pic from A Serious Man, of Richard Kind emerging from the sea in a nice pair of trunks!

The first official image from the Coen brothers forthcoming movie, A Serious Man has been released. It features main character, Larry Gopnik (Michael Stuhlbarg) on his roof partaking in his favourite passtime…

Just a quick note to let you know that I have just updated the site with around 30 new images from Burn After Reading. There are now almost 90 images to enjoy, you can see them all in the movie’s Mulitmedia section, to see the new additions- start at the bottom.

Jeeze, where do I start with this one! OK there’s this website see, where the guy, Brendan Dawes, created a program to sample a tiny image from a movie once every second. The program then sticks all the many images in a chain and creates one massive image. Over on Cinema Redux you can see eight such images created for Hitchcock’s Vertigo, Boorman’s Deliverance, Scorsese’s Taxi Driver and the Coen’s own The Man Who Wasn’t There. Anyhoo, taking the lead from this Boogah on Flickr has created similar for The Big Lebowski. You can see it (in it’s largest version) here or by clicking the sample below. Enjoy… I think…

The internet sure is a strange place, but I still haven’t seen the Queen in her damned undies!

Not near as classy as the first but here are two more posters for Burn After Reading. There’s still a little bit of Saul Bass in there particularly in the form of the sworl of gun-toting arms in the bottom one. Neither are particularly amazing but they’re, you know, OK. Click ‘em for a biggerer version…

EDIT 1: Heh, a reader, Joshua, just emailed me pointing out the strange credits on these two new posters. I assume this is because these are not yet the finished article and these credits are placeholders for the final ones. If anyone knows different I’d be interested to hear from them. Thanks again Joshua- good spot.

EDIT 2: Sorry all, I have been asked/told to remove the two new posters from the site by a PR person working for Focus Features as they are not “approved film assets”. Hopefully some of you grabbed them beforehand because I understand how we, as Coen fans, were excited by these posters. Maybe the final, approved versions will emerge soon. Boo :-(

Well kinda. A new version of the existing Saul Bass-esque poster has been released. It’s almost identical but official word is thus; ‘that while this one-sheet looks very similar to the old one, the position of the gun is slightly different. ‘ Indeed, if you compare it with the previously released poster the gun is now more horizontal and pointing directly at the binoculars of the dude on the right. In the old one the arm of the shooter was at an angle, pointing the gun up above the spyglass dude. See for yourself (I’ll try to find a better resolution version)…

How bizarre!

Cinematical.com has been fortunate enough to exclusively reveal the poster for the Coen brother’s forthcoming spy comedy, Burn After Reading. Obviously that exclusivity ended the second they published it as it spread like wild fire across the many pages of the internet and blogosphere. Enough with the preamble, here it is (click for full size image)…

I like it. Reminds me of a Saul Bass credit sequence or poster (most notably this one for Hitchcock’s Vertigo) and the intros to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Catch Me If You Can. I also like the fact that it isn’t just a collection of big, floating faces of it’s stars.

Four new pics from No Country For Old Men have emerged into the wild. You can check them out using the link on the right or sticking with YKFK and clicking here, here, here and here.

Thanks to JD for the nod!

The first (to my knowledge at least) pic from Burn After Reading has emerged. It is of Brad Pitt with a bloody nose. You can see it here.

Thanks to JD.

Another image from the forthcoming No Country For Old Men has emerged. Via Carter Burwell’s website comes THIS bizarre, little image of Javier Bardem as the nefarious, Chigurh. This also doubles as a wee news snippet, Burwell is currenlty writing the score for the film and it is due to begin recording in February. Sweet!
