So Coen brothers movies are like buses. You wait for ages and then, bam, three come at once!

Hot on the heels of the news regarding Burn After Reading comes news of the Coen’s 14th movie- A Serious Man. Nothing is know about it as yet other than it is “a dark comedy in the vein of Fargo” which cannot be a bad thing.

Thanks once again to Empire for the news and, I agree, The Ladykillers and Intolerable Cruely ARE underrated!

Things are certainly hotting up on Planet Coen, news now of the next movie, their 13th, Burn After Reading. This one has been mentioned once of twice before (check out the Future Projects section) but it looks like a definite goer now that BOTH George Clooney and Brad Pitt are set to star.

I love the interaction between Pitt and Clooney and it’ll be nice to see Pitt finally break his Coen cherry after the aborted To The White Sea. Bring it on!

Many sources for this one but I like Empire

A lot of people were kind enough to take the time to email me on this one, thanks to you all; Christopher, Joseph, and Bunnie.

Looks like “BURN AFTER READING” will be the Coen’s follow up to the forthcoming No Country For Old Men. Focusing on a member of the CIA who pens a book about his top secret missions then loses a CD with it on and featuring George Clooney as the hitman on his tail this semi-comic movie sees the Coens and Clooney team up for a third time. This is the second time this movie has been mentioned now, check the Future Projects secion for more details. Here’s hoping it’s as great as O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Empire article

The Coen news wire is positively alight! Over at AICN they’ve got a brief interview with George Clooney where he mentions the fact that he’s making a movie entitled BURN AFTER READING with the Coens in Spring!!! Now I don’t know if this is a new title for Suburbicon or what but if it isn’t that makes THREE projects the Coens and Clooney are collaborating on simultaneously. It could also be that Clooney is having us on- he is famed for his practical jokes after all. If this is true and it is shooting in Spring what effect does it have on No Country For Old Men which did look like it was shaping up to be the next Coen movie. Who knows?!??! More when I have it.
