Hi all, just a quick note to say that I’ve closed the last poll I ran to see which of the two proposed Coen brothers sequels you, as long time fans, would rather see made. The result is…

Old Fink – 61%

100 Minutes of Jesus – 39%

So some kind of Barton Fink sequel wins! Now it’s back to usual poll now with the addition of A Serious Man as a choice for your favourite Coen brothers’ movie.

Thanks to Bunnie for letting me know.

Once again, the frankly awesome, John Turturro is talking about the possibility of a Jesus Quintana Big Lebowski spin-off movie. It seems he really wants to do it and the world really wants to see it so come on, Joel and Ethan- write the thing!!! Check out this brief red carpet interview…

Last Exit To Nowhere continue their awesome t-shirt range with a new Autobahn-inspired design. Autobahn, as I’m sure I don’t need to say, are the Nihlist’s Kraftwerk-alike band in The Big Lebowski.

The crazy adoration of The Big Lebowski continues. Head over to lebowskipainting.com and you can buy a poster, print or canvas version of a really very good Last Supper Lebowski parody. Far out man, far fucking out!

Also check out the site’s error page (just click on “forum” for example). Great stuff!

While perusing Hollywood Interview after following the link to the Gabriel Byrne interview in the post below, I found an interview with one Jeff Dowd. Jeff who? you might ask. He’s an old friend of the Coen brothers and largely the inspiration for The Dude in The Big Lebowski. Of course, the interview is mostly about Lebowski and is quite an interesting read.

Just a quickie to show you guys the newly released poster for this year’s Lebowskifest. I love what these guys do with their posters, you really should check out the archive. Here it is…

Beautiful as always. Well done guys!

Who knew but Knox Harringon, the “famous video artist” has his own website! It doesn’t seem to DO much but it’s nice that someone thinks he deserves his own web presence. Let me know if you find something on the site.

He’s a Big Lebowski personal favourite of mine because he has a Scouse accent which, I assume, Thewlis himself brought to the role since he is from just up the road in Blackpool. It’s nice to have a character from my home town in a Coen brothers movie.

I think this only applies to readers in the UK but Sky Movies Indie is showing a “season” of Coen brothers movies building up to their premiere of No Country For Old Men showing on Sky Movies Premiere in HD. They’ve dubbed the season “Scream with the Coen brothers” and have put together this frankly ACE trailer which is a compedium of one of the Coens’ recurring themes- people screaming. It starts on 30th March and end on 12th April.

Information on the Sky site is not very well organised but I’ve been able to root this out;

The Hudsucker Proxy is showing on Monday 30th March at 20:00,

O Brother, Where Art Thou? on Monday 30th at 22:00 and Tuesday 31st at 20:00,

Blood Simple on Tuesday 31st at 22:00,

The Big Lebowski is showing on Wednesday 1st April at 22:00,

Raising Arizona is showing on Wednesday 1st April at 20:00 and Thursday 2nd April at 2:00

Beyond that, scrabbled together information I’m not sure if they’re showing more of their movies or not, certainly there are clips from both Barton Fink and Fargo in the trailer but they have no listings on the site. Perhaps those with a Sky subscription could clarify?

Thanks to Will for the info.

I love The Big Lebowski, I really do. Everytime I see something new like this it just makes me smile ear to ear. Here’s a short, 3 minute interview with Jesus Quintana himself – John Turturro where he speaks about his working relationship with Joel and Ethan Coen. Amusingly he states that after trying out all the different, crazy things on set (the ball shining, the ball licking, the Hotel California dance) he was “completely embarrassed” when he saw the final cut. Also, intriguingly, he states that the Coens like his idea for a Lebowski Jesus spin off where “Jesus gets out of jail and drives a school bus”. Anyway here’s the clip…
