YouTube, you gotta love it! Most of you will be aware of Joel Coen’s “acting” history, well you can use the link on the right to see him and Sam Raimi “acting” in the 80’s John Landis comedy Spies Like Us. It amounts to about 10 seconds of screen time but is enough for us to appreciate Joel’s move to behind the camera ;-)

Thanks to Stephen Glitheroe for digging it up!

I’m sure some of you are very excited about the forthcoming Apple iPhone (personally I wish it had a 60 or 80 gig harddrive- then I’d get one), well the eagle-eyed and stay-up-late amongst you might have noticed that Apple had an ad for its new wonder gizmo running during the Oscars on Sunday night. ‘So what?’ I hear you cry, well it featured many, many clips from movies of people answering the phone with a simple, “hello.” Two of said clips were from two of the Coen brothers’ finest movies, Fargo and The Big Lebowski.

Check it out- link on right. Hello to JD for the skinny.

The Coen brothers are among many “top directors” who are each creating one of 35 three minute films on the subject of going to the cinema. They are being made to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival. Let’s hope we get to see them on DVD one day and also that the Coen’s latest No Country For Old Men is in competition this year.

That nice man Carter Burwell is at it again. He’s giving us his fabulous music for free! YAY! This time though it is of particular interest as he’s seen fit to bestow us with two tracks from soundtrack for the forthcoming No Country For Old Men. Also on the site is a little information about the direction the music is taking, with Burwell commenting that it is the quietest film he’s worked on.

Jolly nice man that Burwell. Carter Burwell’s site, The Body

Thanks to abeladi for letting me know.

From June 2007 you will be able to buy, for the princely sum of $12.99, a 7″ The Dude Bobble Head. Follow the link on the right if you think your house or office needs such a thing.

Thanks to Lee for the [bobble] heads up.

Anna Nicole Smith has passed away at the age of 39. She had collapsed and was found unresponsive in a Florida hotel her lawyer said. No cause of death has been announced.

Smith had a small part as Buzz the elevator boy’s girlfriend in The Hudsucker Proxy. RIP.

Some images from the making of the movie have emerged via IMDB. They are not terribly exciting showing as they do candid snaps of actoy Rodger Boyce who is playing Sheriff Roscoe Giddens, with Tommy Lee Jones and Joel and Ethan Coen.
